Emily Henry does it again!
I’m usually not a big fan of the second chance romance trope, but since it’s Emily Henry, and she can do no wrong imo, I decided to go into this with an open mind. Boy did it pay off! Her books just hit me in the feels so much. And there’s just something about the writing style that I cannot explain. This book felt like a warm hug at times, but also stabbed me in the heart repeatedly.
Although I didn’t enjoy this as much as some of the other books, I’m still rating it 5 ⭐️ it was mostly because I was frustrated for a bit part of the story. Like, COME ON GUYS you both obviously worship the ground the other walks on just be together already ughhh 😫 but all the emotional turmoil I went through paid off in the end.
The internal struggles Harriet, Wyn and even Cleo went through were all relatable to me in some way. Reading about Wyn’s lack of confidence felt a bit like looking into a mirror sometimes.
One of my favourite quotes:
I feel like a ghost. Like my skin isn’t solid enough to hold the sunlight, and my hair isn’t there to dance on the breeze.
Like, that’s just a beautiful sentence, damn 🥺
Also, I want a Wyn in my life, thank you 🫢
AND there was a Beach Read cameo! 🤩🤩
Was there chemistry?
🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
Was the spice any good?
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (I cannot stress enough how much I love the way Emily Henry writes spice)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
