laurelthebooks 's review for:
The Poppy War
by R.F. Kuang
Woah.
That was a book.
That went from cruising to light speed...over my empathy. with spiked tires.
Warning: graphic descriptions and viciously human characters in both the best and worst ways possible.
If you get squeamish beware, but I will need to schedule a re-read for this book because Rin's character progression is solidly in the category of amazingly well done. My favorite character personally was Kitay, although the entire host of characters are interesting. I'm hoping we continue to get fleshed out characters as the series progresses.
(PS - never ever have I been so glad to start a series after all the books are out)
