Xeni
by Rebekah Weatherspoon
3.5 stars
I thought the narrator for this one was a very odd choice, which is what made me knock off half a star (although for GR purposes, it's still 4). A white British guy narrating when the book is literally called Xeni, after the main character, who is a Black woman, is a little odd. I'm sure it was because the love interest is a white Scottish guy, but the narrator wasn't particularly good at doing an American accent, which was pretty distracting at times.
I thought the story was cute, if a little rushed, but overall enjoyable. I think if I had the chance to read it over again, I would read the physical version or ebook because this really was a case of the narrator not being right for the book.
