Berserk, Vol. 17
by Kentaro Miura
The first book to really drill into Guts' character post-Band of the Hawk. The supporting cast does a lot of heavy lifting here, supporting their friend while simultaneously calling him out on abandoning Casca for 2 years to satisfy his bloodlust and desire for revenge. Guts has a long way to go in terms of healing and undoing the harm he's caused to those most important to him, but he's finally on the right track and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.
Really didn't think I'd come back to this series after the Golden Age arc, but taking some time off and coming back to stories like this have reeled me back in.
