The Honey Witch
by Sydney J. Shields
3.5 stars. I liked this one, but I didn’t love it. It was so cozy, but to the point of being a bit boring. (Note I have a teeny tiny attention span) It really started to pick up around the 50% mark, so if you’re more patient than me, you might love this.
I loved that this took place in a queer normative world and that our main couple features a bisexual woman & a lesbian woman. I also loved the FMC, marigold. I think everyone can relate to having your heartbroken and swearing off love, & it makes finding your soulmate after even sweeter.
This story also has a beautiful take on grief. It was nice watching Mari reconnect with her grandmother as an adult and through the memories ingrained in her home.
I think this book would be great for fans of The Seven Year Slip, but want a more fantastical version.
