Damn I loved this second book. Mortal Gods just kept the story moving right along at a perfect pace. I don't want to say too much about the story due to spoilers, but I was enjoying every line I was reading. Blake is so descriptive in her writing, you can see everything clear as day in your mind, no matter how grotesque or beautiful. I also really enjoyed the inner conflicts of Athena, and how her slowly dying is making her question old ways or herself at times even when she acts the usual part. I give Mortal Gods a 4.5 our 5.
