Protecting What's Mine by Lucy Score
5.0

The doctor, Mackenzie O’Neil, who wants a fresh start and the Fire Chief, Lincoln Reed, who are responding during a tragic accident meet each other helping one of the victims and catch-up afterwards and realize that they are attracted to each other. Protecting What’s Mine follows Mackenzie and Lincoln as they test out their feelings for one another.

Lucy Score did a fabulous job reeling me in and kept me waiting to see how Lincoln and Mackenzie’s attraction would pan out. It was great to see other characters from Pretend You’re Mine and Finally Mine return in this story. The building of relationships between characters from the previous stories and this one was wonderful and helped make this a stronger world. While Mackenzie is a smart, caring, and strong heroine I would have liked to see a bit stronger self-defense skills whenever she found herself in a fight. Lincoln was the perfect book boyfriend, and he was just like I expected him to be: sexy, sweet, and caring.

This story provoked many heart flutters and I connected with both Lincoln and Mackenzie and wanted them both to be happy. I did feel like the end was a bit rushed, but I was still invested in how everything would turn out. I love this town and all the characters that Lucy Score has created and I would give Protecting What’s Mine five stars out of five.
