Kudos to this little novella for getting me out of a massive post-favourite-series-reread hangover. I love aliens. I love pen pals (in this case, it was more of a long distance talking over the phone thing but still, love that).

On one level, it was just some lovely, good-natured alien erotica.

On another level, my over-analyzing brain stumbled in some nonsensical moments (like, how did they talk to each other the first time if he only learned English after talking to her?) and I struggled to let it go.

And, maybe erotica isn’t for me on some level? Because I felt so cheated out of the long distance conversation slow burn! 😆 Erotica readers, feel free to roll your eyes at me.

But still, pen pals is a superior trope.
