The Raven Boys
by Maggie Stiefvater
This book had an extremely interesting premise, unfortunately though, for me, the execution was lacking.
It took 17 chapters for our protagonists to come together and that for me is so slow. I would be more engaged if we had more fast paced interactions between the Raven boys, or between Blue and her mum for example. But everything moved so slow that it was hard for me to read. And when the action picked up in the last few chapters, it wasn't enough for me to salvage the whole book.
The three star rating is for the premise and for Blue and Gansey, otherwise it would have been a 2 star book. Blue is definitely one of my favorite characters, she's so original and fun, one can't help but love her! Gansey on the other hand is my absolute favourite, his drive and dedication to his friends, his demeanor, everything about him make me love him. Another reason I didn't really like this book is the fact that my ship didn't sail
