The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

emotional hopeful lighthearted

I thought it would just be a sweet, wholesome romance, but it was sweet and spicy. I also didn't expect this to be an emotional read, but this book got me sobbing! Some parts of the story just felt like I was reading about myself. I've not been diagnosed with anything, but I related to her a lot, both in terms of her symptoms and how she feels navigating social situations, always feeling alone because she says The Wrong Thing and drives people away, locking up in physical situations, being sensitive to sensory stimuli, hating it when others have to make adjustments because of her, being perceived as high maintenance or a diva. I mean this could have just as well been about me. Seeing Michael accept and love her as she is was a refreshing change to reality that I didn't know I needed.
