The Last of the Moon Girls by Barbara Davis
4.0

Barabra Davis created an intriguing world with diverse characters that I keep myself from devouring so that I could savor it. I found the way that clues about what happened to the Gilman girls were revealed to be perfectly paced. I was a bit surprised by the twist at the end. What happened was not exactly who, why, or what I thought.

I couldn’t get enough of Evvie and Andrew. They were such fun characters to help Lizzie grow over the course of the book. The book of remembrances that Althea left Lizzie was so emotional and full of wisdom. I enjoyed how each passage from the book meshed perfectly what Lizzie was going through at the time. Andrew was such a swoony hero!

The biggest problem that I had was that the Moon’s have these special talents, but none of their talents really helped them. I was really expecting Lizzie to use her talent when she was interviewing people in town or that it would help alert her when she was in danger. It could have been a more useful talent and played a bigger part in the story.

Overall, this story pulled me in from the beginning and I would have devoured it, if I hadn’t been reading it with my book club group
