The Assassin's Blade
by Sarah J. Maas
"My name is Celaena Sardothien, and I will not be afraid."
I definitely enjoyed this more than I expected to seeing as how this genre has not been my go-to for the past few years. I am glad I finally purchased this whole series because if this collection of prequels is any indication of how I will feel about the rest of the series, then I had better get to binge reading NOW!
Celaena (or CeBAEna, as I like to call her now) Sardothien is just this fiery, sharp, and intense young woman that I can't stop reading about! Her combined poise and sassy attitude are intoxicating to me for some reason. Reading these prequels I saw so many different sides of her, but they were all sides of the same base person. She's a lot more complex than I ever thought she would be before diving into the series.
4.5 stars for this collection (rounded up for Goodreads) and I am definitely on the right track to enjoying the hell out of this series!
