The first book I have read by Alexandra Bracken was Passenger. I have heard many good things about The Darkest Minds, and I added it to the list of books I wanted my husband to buy me for Christmas 2016. The books premise is really well done and very unique. I really love how the government forces "special" children who could be "dangerous" into a camp that "rehabilitates" them, and no one ever gets out. Ruby is on the run from a few groups who either want her or to put her back into camp. Ruby meets Liam and his gang that is looking the Slip Kid. I loved the action in this book, the world building, and the characters in this book. I am really mad at Ruby at the end, though, but I am wondering how her actions will affect the sequel and the rest of the series.
