i have seen this cover so much but somehow still knew nothing about this book, but i flew through it on audio yesterday thanks to a day trip, and it kept me engaged (and awake) the whole time. i’m torn on how i feel about it — parts were so deep and tender and beautiful, parts felt rushed and others felt like they trudged on too long, neither character quiiiiite hooked me fully but both had SO MUCH potential to be brilliant, and it kept really bugging me that i couldn’t place this book in time for most of it?? the themes here are complex and dark at times — drugs and loss and love and belonging and affairs and grief — but written well, i just wanted mooooore from this one.
