I am awed that a person in their mid-20’s could have lived an eventful enough life to write not just a memoir, but a riveting one. As a therapist who works with transgender clients, I have a front row view of the many obstacles and injustices, big and small, that trans people face every day. This book does a beautiful job of explaining all of those obstacles clearly, succinctly, and empathetically for an audience that might not be as familiar with them. The inside view of state house debates on LGBTQ+ bills was particularly interesting. But more than anything, I think this book is a love story. The relationship between the author and her husband is an extraordinarily beautiful one. I would label this a must-read.
