this was a good conclusion and a well thought out and put together book that wrapped the entire plot and story, characters and ideas up nicely.
what i had issues with was clove and her behavior.
throughout most of the book she behaves incredibly selfish and only thinking about herself. and yes she is a teenager. but she is also really smart and capable of thinking logically through situations-as shown later on in the book especially but also early in.
so her constant spoiled, selfish and hurtful behavior towards the people around her because she didn’t get what she wanted? that got on my nerves.
especially since clove never actually really needed to apologize in realistic and real ways.
she might have said she was sorry, but a second later she did the same thing again or even worse things without even a thought of anyone else.
again i understand she is a teenager… but she is apparently smart enough and logical enough to travel through time a bunch of times and save lives and change the world. shouldn’t that also mean that she is should be smart enough to at least understand that for example just because she has a crush on someone does not entitle her to that person or their feelings.
i understand clove being hurt if her crush is interested in other people and shows no interest in her. that is hurtful, especially at an age where hormones and feelings are so intense and all over the place in so many ways. BUT a person as smart as her should also be smart enough to also understand that a crush does not mean anything to the other person -especially if they don’t feel the same.
end of rant!
all in all?
good book, wish i wouldn’t have had such a personal issue with clove but other than that well done over all
