All the Light We Cannot See is absolutely riveting. Through the writing of Anthony Doerr, I was able to picture my self next to both Marie-Laure and Werner in their separate lives until they met for one day.

While Germany was by far the enemy in WWII, in this book, in my opinion the there are more enemies for our protagonists and they would be Claude (the perfume guy) and the sergeant major. I won’t spoil what they did, but I can’t help, but hold a little distaste for those men.

I am a huge fan of WWII nonfiction and fiction novels and this one truly held my attention from the first chapters.
