There's a resident of the 13th Floor that we haven't glimpsed before and that's because she's a ghost. Her name is Chiharo. She lives her afterlife alone, watching the other supernatural residents of the 13th Floor. She's been dead for 30 years, pushed over a railing from the roof of the apartment building, and she's never met another ghost. Until one barges into her territory to kill Kiral, the vampire. Jeremy claims Kiral killed him five years ago and he wants to return the favor. Then something sinister happens in the building. Something is drinking people, taking their life essences. Soon Chiharo and Jeremy are working together to banish the demon responsible for this terror.
It was really interesting to read about a brand new character and get a different perspective of the residents I had gotten to know previously.
Chiharo is by far my favorite heroine of this series. Even though she's a ghost, she felt so real. Her selflessness was amazing, shocking, and...gosh...I don't know...everything! The end was perfect not just for this story but for the whole collection.
Bravo to Christine Rains for creating such a fascinating series that kept me entranced from beginning to end, and made the residents of the 13th Floor feel like good friends.
