I listened to this because i missed the chance at seeing the movie. I thought this would be a cute cozy listen but it was surprisingly more than that. I enjoyed the graphic audio at certain times. This turned out to be darker than i expected especially towards the end but there was alot of death throughout.
I really enjoyed the storyline of learning and friendship for survival. I liked meeting all the animals on the island and the mother plot line with brightbeak the gosling was the cutest thing.. seeing Roz learn to become a mother was precious.
The ending shocked me of how violent it was, how all the animals all came together to protect Roz was amazing but it was upsetting seeing some of them get hurt in the process.
Ut was sad that Roz had to sacrifice herself and leave the island to even have a chance of becoming whole and returning at some point.
I would read the sequel, I’m invested now.
