Mandate Thirteen by Joseph J. Dowling
3.5
adventurous challenging dark emotional tense medium-paced

Well this was an absolutely horrifying dystopian novel about a society that is rapidly losing its fertility. It’s to the point where thirteen year old females are mandated into fertility testing and if they’re fertile are shipping off to birthing schools.

This wouldn’t be so terrifying if it didn’t sound like something that could actually happen.

There were multiple POV and it started changing with chapters at the beginning but later into the book it would change mid-chapter and that was confusing for a bit. There’s also plenty of loose strings with this book - a lot is left up to reader interpretation which is not my favorite but I know many readers enjoy that.

Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 it was good, longer than necessary I think and definitely delivered.
