I read The Dreamers in a few days and although it was a fast read, unfortunately this book did not live up to the hype for me. I really liked the concept for the story, but I would have loved for the book to follow and be told from the perspective of a few characters rather than the population of a whole town. The writing was beautiful, but it was hard for me to connect with the story as it was told from a third person narrative. If you enjoy science fiction or dystopian novels this is the book for you as it deals with themes of a mystery illness, but this was not enough to keep me engaged.
