Skyward by Brandon Sanderson

I'll be the first to admit that Brand Sanderson books are a bit daunting to get into. He writes so many, they're in depth, and heavily detailed. I've read many.

This series is pleasantly easy to start and stay engaged with. I would say it is lighter than a lot of his other series (looking at you Way of Kings)!

The FMC is sassy and bloodthirsty. The quips and clever threats that come out of her mouth had me chuckling throughout the book but, MBOT had me dying! There is strong character growth and development from the FMC and the book nears the end.

Although there are hints at a romance to come in future books, there is none in this particular book.

This book gives strong Ender's Games vibes in a good way. It is definitely pilot jargon heavy, but not to an extent that effects my enjoyment of the read.

The overarching plot is a bit predictable, but the individual decisions are not.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book and plan to continue the series to completion.
