I felt very letdown by the Oprah seal on the cover. Didn't enjoy this book in the slightest. The prose felt over the top pretentious, like she was trying too hard to sound literary instead of trying to authentically write the characters. And the characters were all just miserable people. I don't have to like every character in every book I read, but I have to be entertained by them and at least want to follow their journey, and I really didn't here. If all of them had died in the end, I wouldn't have felt anything at all.

I also normally don't mind reading books that deal with difficult topics like incest, but this left me with an ick feeling.
