Disappointed in rape as a plot point
I really wanted to like this book; I love the author’s other stories. However, every major plot point, and even a metaphor running though out the book of possession, relied on rape. It seemed completely unnecessary. I get the main character comes from a troubled past and she was trying to portray her as overcoming hardship and as a survivor of so many things... but it was a bit much.
