Even though I felt like the first part of the book went in circles, I liked it slightly better than An Ember in the Ashes. There was more action that made sense, we got answers to some questions, heartbreaking scenes took place and I generally cared more about the characters. Including Helena's POV was a great choice and I enjoyed it the most. Villians still feel a little too black and white evil. Writing is still amazing and the main thing that keep me going.
