Mad Love by Willow Aster
5.0

I love this start to a brand new series by Willow Aster! I really liked this book and it features one of my favorite tropes: single dad. This one comes with a twist though, and I thought it was really well written. Weston Shaw is a famous football player who finds out he's a dad when he gets a call saying his son has been in an accident... a son he didn't know he had. Unfortunately, the child's mother has passed way, so Weston now is left to raise his son, and is also left with many questions. He finds out that his son's aunt, Sadie, wants to raise him as well. At first, they aren't too keen on each other but soon find their footing when they realize it's in his son's best interest to raise him together. Sparks soon begin to fly and Sadie and Weston have to grapple with the fact that they are falling in love with each other, something they never saw coming in such rough circumstances. I really loved how Sadie and Weston put their differences aside to raise Caleb and how quickly Weston stepped up for his son. It was clear how much Sadie loved her sister, and wanted to do right by her memory, but felt conflicted due to her feelings for Weston. Their tension and back and forth was so good, and I really enioyed this premise and how it was written very well. I am looking forward to the other books in the series!
