She loved a book more than she loved sex. - In reference to Laini

In my best Britney Spears voice "Oops I did it again, I found a series, to consume my life" LOl Just go with it.

First, let me say I had NO idea what I was getting into when I picked this book to be the D in my alphabet challenge. I simply did a search for D books, liked the cover and challenged myself to read it in 2022 as part of this crazy challenge.

Turns out I opened Pandora's box. I went in blind, having never read any books by this author. (yeah, I didn't jump on the Zodiac bandwagon... but I will now)

Things I love about this series- The heroine is badass, it's a RH, there are multiple POVS, not just from the love interests.

Premise, Elise's brother is dead. She refuses to believe it was an overdose. She transfers to his school undercover to investigate the true cause of death, and exact vengeance on those responsible.

Elisa is a vampire, the "kings" in her life are a Neaman Lion, Harpy, Vampire, and Storm Dragon. All very unique. powerful, sexy, stubborn, alpha, and not fans of one another.

There is a ton of action and secrets to be uncovered. I felt like this was pretty fast paced and kept me engaged. I've heard the first two books are slow but I think it's only in reference to the spicy sexy time scenes. But the sexual tension and flirting is enough to warm up the room for sure.
