This book truly is a gift. It is simple yet beautiful, with wisdom and advice that resonates almost 70 years after it was written. Anne’s comments on the busyness of life, bustle of communication and contact with the people around us, and need for solitary and independent time alone means so much today. This book truly spoke to me and I could not underline and re-read enough. It was the perfect book to transition from summer (beach life and island time Anne refers to it) and heading back to work.
