How does one move ahead in life when your best friend moves away or your lover leaves? Does your life stagnate? Do you mess up your circadian rhythm over it? Life comes to a standstill when you have nothing to look forward to.

Love in the big city is gay literature, originally written in Korean and translated by Anton Hur. It's a story of an unnamed person who is sometimes called Mr Young and in a few other places, he is Mr Park.

A story about relationships: his friendship, his love, his ailing mother and a conservative society. The book is divided into four parts and each part is magnificently woven and touching.

I enjoyed the friendship between Jaehee and the protagonist, both had a similar liking and bonded well.
 ๐Ÿต๐Ÿต
The protagonist is projected as a compassionate human, with a caring nature and love for his ailing mom.
 ๐Ÿต๐Ÿต
His zigzagging love life created mayhem in his life, struggling emotionally and its repercussions on his health and attitude towards life.
 ๐Ÿต๐Ÿต
Although he is in a big bustling city, every part of the book has an undercurrent of loneliness, oppression, and depression.
 ๐Ÿต๐Ÿต
The author has brilliantly captured every emotion and expressed it beautifully.
 An easy but poignant read.
