This memoir was so great. I chose it because I heard that Tara Clancy decided to write this book because there were so few memoirs of working class families in New York City. Her story doesn't disappoint. Tara hilariously narrates stories from her childhood and adolescence set in her life as an Italian-Irish girl in Queens, NY. She doesn't play into stereotypes, but also doesn't shy away from the stereotypical elements of various characters. She just tells her story, in all its hilarity.

Note: definitely listen to the audio book if you can, because she narrates it, and it's side-splittingly funny.
