I have been caught in this series being released by @simonbooks even though I began with WITNESS 8. Fortunately, these can be read as standalone novels, so I am all in on this one, thanks to the publisher and @netgalley!

Eddie Flynn is a lawyer who will only represent people who are innocent, a character reader skill he is quite proud of. When Sophia comes to him with the request to represent her in her father's brutal murder, she insists it was her much more culturally accepted sister who wielded the blade.

Kate is fresh off a resignation from her skeezy law firm with the client she brought with her, Alexandra of whom she is convinced is innocent of her father's brutal murder by the hands of her sister, the mentally unstable Sophia. She has the skills and tenacity to get at the truth.

One of these sisters killed their father, but which one?

Told from Eddie, Kate, and "She" perspectives, this is a very exciting cat-&-mouse, courtroom thriller with questions swirling around each sister through to the end. I had a hunch of the truth, but had no idea how, so it was all very satisfying to read it all come together. And I wasn't quite right! βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈπŸ’«

I thoroughly enjoy these novels and they are such quick reads, that I am already excited to start the next one that releases in August!
