Read for Popsugar 2018 Challenge: A book by an author of a different ethnicity than you

I LOVED this book. Gabrielle Union shared a really great variety of stories throughout her life which were a great mix of funny, touching, and sincere. She talks really eloquently about her experiences as a black woman in America (such as issues with colorism and Hollywood inclusivity) and her experiences as a rape victim and survivor. Her openness about her PTSD and anxiety, as well as her first marriage, were so genuine; it really felt like she was sharing these stories over a bottle of wine. I cannot recommend the audiobook enough, because her voice is an absolute delight to listen to.

I listened to the first quarter in 2017, but so happy to have this as my first 2018 read!
