Sonny is a delightfully inappropriate, sarcastic Australian with the added bonus that silence is not his strong suit. He has been in Terrafera for 2 years and found a safe place for himself with the rebels. Well as safe as anywhere can be in Terrafeara. He’s also a bit peeved that humans who crash-land through the rift tend to find their fated mates immediately but that’s not been the case for him. 

Circumstances lead to Royal Guard Kael entering his life and things are never the same again. Their first meeting doesn’t really leave Sonny with a good impression of Kael but when they are sent out of the compound  to locate a human doctor Sonny’s ill feelings for him begin to change. They have plenty of hurdles to overcome in the course of their relationship but nothing that stops these two from getting a well deserved HEA. 

It’s a very engaging and enjoyable read with two wonderful main characters and a very interesting cast of side characters to keep things interesting. The overarching plot continues with the gaining of a bit more knowledge coming to light. I really love the world building in this series, the well balanced plot and romance elements and the little bit of insight into the next in the series. I can’t wait!
