Kick, Push by Jay McLean
5.0

ARC received for an honest review

See that heart up there?  That is what Jay McLean did to my heart right from the start of Kick Push.

We met Josh and Tommy briefly in Where The Road Takes Me, and I was intrigued by them back then.

But holy crap, I don't have the words to say how much I loved this book!  Days later, I am still struggling with how to write this review.

Right from the get go, Ms McLean drew me into Josh and Tommy's world, and I never wanted to leave!

When Becca enters their lives, you can feel the walls around Josh's heart crumbling, opening himself to feeling again.

But his life, his world is Tommy - and he is just a little scene stealer!

Becca is complex.  She is beautifully broken, and as we learn more about her, you realise just how strong she is.

The connection between Josh and Becca is instant.  It is strong.  All consuming.

Oh my goodness, all the feels.  This book is full of them.  Just when you think you have a handle on what is happening, and that Josh, Tommy and Becca are going to make something together ... BAM, Ms McLean rips your still beating heart right out of your chest again.

I think I will have to send Ms McLean a bill for all the tissues I used during the time it took to read Kick Push!

I loved that we got to see more of Hunter and Chloe from Where The Road Takes Me - Hunter has been a part of Josh's life for so long, we just couldn't not have him there still.

It is days since I finished reading Kick Push, but I am still thinking about it.  It was one of those books that I did not want to put down.   Going to work was torture as I simply needed to know what was happening with our lovelies - I may have snuck reading a chapter or two in at work.  It consumed me, body and soul.

I didn't think that any Jay McLean book could get better than her last - but I am happy to say that I was wrong.

Now I will have to impatiently wait to see how she can rip my heart out next time.

Kick. Push. Coast
