Monique works for Viviant, a magazine company and she has just been requested by Evelyn Hugo to do a cover story. Evelyn Hugo, Hollywood’s most famous and beautiful, daring actress during the 50s-80s. Monique wonders why Evelyn Hugo has asked for her specifically so when she arrives to Evelyns place and finds out that the daring actress actually wants her to write a biography about her, Monique is confused and excited at the same time.

Evelyn Hugo wants the world to know who she is, why she had seven husbands throughout her Hollywood career and the stories behind each marriage. Evelyn wants the world to know who she truly is behind the scenes and she only wants Monique to write the story. Monique wonders and questions why Evelyn only want her to write this story?

My favorite thing about this book is the authors writing style, TJR does a wonderful job storytelling and creating this bold character, Evelyn Hugo. The dialogue between the characters was marvelous, she paints a wonderful picture of how each character looks and acts, I loved that.

I am torn about the main character though, I love/hate Evelyn Hugo. I loved how bold and strong this character is, how straightforward she is about herself; confident in her abilities. Evelyn Hugo knew she had talent and she knew how to use her talent and her body to get what she wanted. She was made to be an actress but how she treated some people throughout the book was
