Very surprised (and happy!) that there was no clear love interest at all. I start every urban fantasy novel bracing myself for terrible romance. It's a bad habit at this point.

Nikki is a fun character who was developed enough for me to be interested in learning more about her and her background as the series goes on. I was hoping to get more world building information, but I am excited to see non-Greek gods playing a role in the series.
