This book was a pleasant surprise. I added some books to my waitlist on overdrive, and it recommended this one. I decided to give it a try without even reading the summary. None of my books were coming off hold for a while, so I had time to kill.

At first, I was having a hard time with the book because the main character was going through so much. I understood why, but it was beginning to get overwhelming. However, when the book started to pick up the plot, I really got into it.

This is my favorite book ever, but for what I wanted it for, it was perfect. It has a very likable main character, and her little brother is the best. The world is very interesting as well, and the way it ended broke my heart but my interest is piqued, and now I wanna pick up the rest of the series.

The book is just charming, and if you need something to read between some other books? Then this is definitely a book to pick up.
