Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls

Lauren Graham aka to all Gilmore Girls fans as Lorelai Gilmore. I’ve seen all 7 seasons when they first released and I’ll re-watch them from time to time. Gilmore Girls is my comfort tv show. The most reliable thing because no matter what, the Gilmore’s will always be there. And now there’s the Gilmore Girls Reunion on Netflix. Gilmore Girls: a Year in the Life is four episodes that are all over an hour long, but it’s not enough. I still haven’t seen the 4th episode because I don’t want it to end.
So I picked up Lauren Graham’s book Talking as Fast as I Can. I read her fiction book “Someday, Someday, Maybe” that seemed like a nonfiction book. I ended up really liking that book mostly because of the audiobook. Lauren Graham did a great job in reading her book. She made it light and funny. And maybe the character Franny Banks seemed like it was like Lauren Graham because of the audiobook.
Talking as Fast As I Can is about Lauren and hearing her audiobook as well as reading the book was good. She talked fast in the audiobook. Like Lorelai Gilmore fast. Maybe that helped me speed read through her book. There was bits in the book that I liked, her notes on watching all the Gilmore Girls shows! And then bits I was just thinking like this was her way to advertise her book, “Someday, Someday, Maybe” oh and another book she’ll be writing and to keep a look out for, oh and a screenplay she’s going to write to. We get Lauren, you’re a writer. I liked your book, you don’t need to go on and on about it in every chapter in hopes that I’ll read it. Again. Bit redundant advertising but other than that I loved her bio.
I’m glad I also got the kindle book because she added another chapter. It’s more of an appendix of all the things she forgot to add and things she wanted to add after the book was published. Like thanking everyone for taking half-face photos with her half-face on the book cover.
Seeing our faces united across states and countries felt like a thank-you, a virtual “face hug” if you will, a gesture of support in a way that I couldn’t possibly have predicted and that I’ll never tire of...”
I was actually thinking of taking a “face hug” photo. Someday. Maybe.
