The Good Luck of Right Now
by Matthew Quick
My enjoyment of this book was completely unexpected. I read it for my library's book club and I knew very little about it when I first cracked it open. From the first chapter, I was engaged and entertained! Told in a first-person narrative where Batholomew Neil writes letters to Richard Gere, you are drawn into how Bartholomew is dealing with his grief from losing his mother, and how he he is taken on an unexpected journey to make friends and find a family. The mood of this book is light, it's a fast read, and it had me laughing at points. It may have been the first Matthew Quick book I read, but I don't think it will be the last!
