Kingdom of Ink and Paper by Matthew Newman
4.0

3,5* rounded to 4
This is a book with a lot of potential and and original idea: a realm where everything that was written is real.
I read books about libraries or world were everything what wasn’t publisher can become real but it’s the first time I read a book about everything that was published.
The target of the story is middle-grade/YA but I enjoyed it even if I’m quite older than the target.
It’s an introductory book and we meet the characters and start to learn about this new book.
This is not a book that makes you fell in love after a few pages: the beginning is a bit slow and there’s plenty of dialogue and not a lot of action.
Persevering I wanted to know what was going to happen and enjoyed the story.
I hope that there will be more character and world building development in the next instalments. I liked Will and the others but I felt they were lacking a bit of depth.
It’s an interesting debut and I hope to read the rest of the series.
Many thanks to the author and Smith Publicity for this digital copy, all opinions are mine
