The Family Man is an adult contemporary romance by author Kelly Eadon. Normally, this is not a book that I would pick up on my own. I am not typically drawn to books featuring a single parent, but because I have read, and really enjoyed, one of Kelly's books in the past, I decided to give this book a try. I loved Kelly's easy way with romance and building a connection between characters. Her last book, The Wedding Date, was a feel good read for me, and I wanted to see if The Family Man would be the same. And it was.
The Family Man takes place in the same town, with the same characters, and some new ones thrown in for fun. I like this set up because you can still read each of the books independently, but if you do read them in order you are privy to some extra insights into the various characters and you get to watch them interact in the background throughout the books. It it one of my favorite setups for contemporary romances.
The Family Man is the story of Beth and Griffin. Griffin is a single dad, and even though his daughter takes up so much of his time, he can't seem to stay away from Beth. I loved watching Beth and Griffin interact. The way their relationship blossomed and developed just made me happy. It is as simple as that. Yes, there were some dramatic moments between the two, and there was a little pinch of the same drama that made me wonder what they were thinking, but overall it was lots of laughing and fun with sexy sweetness. Kelly Eadon is quickly becoming a go-to feel good read author. I know that her books will put a smile on my face.
