A Long Way Away by Frank Viva
3.0

Age: Kindergarten-2nd grade

This is a good book for readers familiar with the format of a picture book because when you finish the book--you are not finished! A nice inversion of expectations.

I would agree with other reviews that the artwork is the focus, especially following the line with your finger (best for one-on-one reads). The sparse words give the story less emphasis. Also, the story that goes from the beginning to end is slightly more confusing than the story that goes from the end to beginning. Why does he travel all that way to go to sleep on a ledge in a lagoon?
