Quiet Beautiful Things
by Samantha Christy
This book is just so beautiful from start to finish. This book features Blake, who suddenly becomes the father of a four year old girl. His daughter, Maisy, is deaf and has been neglected her entire life by her mother. Meanwhile, he has had a few run ins with a mystery woman and imagine his surprise when that same woman turns out to be the mentor to his deaf daughter... and she is also deaf. Although they have a rocky start, it's clear how much chemistry Ellie and Blake have, and how much Blake adores Maisy from the very beginning. He is determined to give her the best life possible, especially after everything she has endured. I truly loved everything about this. I think the deaf representation is so good in this book, and I learned some things myself. Blake is a sweetheart and is an amazing single dad, jumping in feet first immediately and taking care of the daughter he never knew he had but loves so much. I loved the writing in this book; so many great little details and lines that really make the book. I cannot wait for the other books in the series!
