I have the same problem with this book as I had with The Wonder Engine: it was too long for how much (or rather little) plot it had. For the last hundred pages I wished it was already over. I didn't click with the characters as much as I did in her other books either.

I am going to read the third book in the future, that's for sure, but I need a little break from paladins for now.
