What a book to pick as a bookclub read! This book was exactly what it promised to be: an alien smut—nothing more, nothing less. The bad thing is I wasn't in the mood for it. I didn't care about any of the characters, the plot was non-existent, the worldbuilding poor and didn't make much sense tbh, and I was bored with the sex scenes soon enough. And the whole "my symbiont chose you as my mate, boom, you are pregnant now!" thing made me quite uncomfortable. The only good thing about the whole book was its humor: it didn't take itself seriously at all (and I mean it as a compliment) and I laughed out loud several times. It's not enough to make me continue with the series, though, to find out whether other characters would click with me more or if the worldbuilding gets better.
