Animal Farm by George Orwell
4.0

"Twelve voices were shouting in anger, and they were all alike. No question, now, what had happened to the faces of the pigs. The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again: but already it was impossible to say which was which."
THE END

Before starting this book, I knew that it is about Russian revolution, about which I know nothing. But, I didn't even tried to know about it and was just relied on the book itself. I believed that being a classic and of a different era, it will be difficult to read and understand, but to my contrary believe, it was funny, entertaining and satirical.

I really enjoyed the overall journey of Manor Farm becoming the Animal Farm and then converting back to Manor Farm. The story is about a farm where all the animals took over the farm by pushing out the farm's owner. Now pigs were the head as they were acknowledged as most intelligent animals there. They completely turn over the whole farm into their own house, and just relaxed while other animals worked hard to survive. As the others were too foolish to realize the plans of the pigs, at last they were just workers and the pigs were their masters. The pigs collaborated with humans once again at the end, while it was the reason in the first place that the rebellion started.

It was a fast paced story. During each part of the chapter, you can easily relate to the fact that it is a total satire on humans (I'll keep the Russian revolution out of this and will think in the current situation of the world). We humans want to grow on top positions whatever it takes. The person on top continues to take advantage of his position and the people lower to him keeps on working (like the other animals on the farm). The lower ones think that they are not capable of thinking strategies and plan, so top ones are always right. If someone is doing any good but is competition to others, then they try to force him out of the system (like what happened to Snowball). Strategies are laid out, weak ones are sacrificed, just for the sake of their own good.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story and it was really entertaining, contrary to my believe. The writing was simple and up to the mark. It made me think at each point that how humans take advantage of each other for their own benefits. How the weak and poor ones are sacrificed for the sake of rich and stronger ones.

This story can have a different impact and different meaning for each one of you. But for me it was perfect satire on humans. Seriously a master piece by [a:George Orwell|3706|George Orwell|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1588856560p2/3706.jpg] and I hope think that it should be included in syllabus of each school.

"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others".
