I had hopes for this book but it fell short significantly for me. I read 60% of the book and then jumped to the last chapter to find out the ending.

Marissa is engaged to the man of her dreams, Nathan. Nathan comes with a daughter, Anna, an ex-wife Rianne, and a brother Kevin, and sister-in-law. To announce their engagement, neighbors Lauren and Jensen are invited for a special dinner. There is history with Marissa, Lauren, and Jensen. The next morning, Lauren is found dead. Marissa, who once was great friends with Lauren, is grieving and trying to figure out the circumstances of Lauren's death.

Though the ending was a bit surprising, I feel the build-up to the ending lacked a lot of suspense and intrigue. I just felt like I wanted this book to end.

I preferred the Twilight Wife better.
