hello! another repetitive book i had to read for school!

yes, welcome back. im rebeca and i gave ANOTHER book a three star! are we surprised? of course not.

anyway. this book, in case you didn’t know, is about Ally, who’s in the sixth grade, who also had dyslexia. but she doesn’t really want anyone to know.

anywho, lets get started.

so, basically. the book opens with Ally at school & being difficult w/ her teacher, Mrs. Hall.

in this book, Ally covers up her secret by being a bad student and refusing to do work. she is bullied by two girls, Shay and Jessica, throughout the majority of the book.

i really loved the friendship that had developed throughout the book. it was a really beautiful and well developed friendship that i found truly real and genuine.

i was really happy for Ally as she overcame dyslexia and finally stood up to Shay and Jessica in the end. Shay got what she deserved and i was really glad she got what she deserved.

also, SUPER glad they stood up to Albert’s bullies! it was wonderful.

although it was an enjoyable book, there were still a few things i disliked.

my main issue with this book was Mr. Daniels and Ally’s relationship.

yes, he was her teacher. yes, he was helping her. but throughout the whole thing i couldn’t help but feel like the author wanted a romance between the two.

i know i sound super frickin crazy for saying that but the whole time Ally was doing everything for HIM. for Mr. Daniels. maybe Ally was the one who loved him & Mr. Daniels was just chillin idk.

the other thing that ruined the book for me was how repetitive it was. it was the same thing over and over and over! Ally just assumed she couldn’t do it and them Mr. Daniels encourages her to do it and, omg guess what, she did end up doing it.

yeah, 266 pages of who-knows-what.
