Sad to come to the end of this series.
I don’t think there’s anyone writing historical romance like this. The intense focus on history (both in the specific time period of Victorian England as well as the characters personal history). It grounds these stories in a way I genuinely cannot say I’ve read other books in the genre do. And for that I am sad to see this come to a conclusion.

Dunmore did an incredible job at both telling Catriona’s story & bringing closure to the other girls and a bit of the suffrage movement within the book.

I absolutely adored that Elias was from mount Lebanon and his struggle of not feeling he belongs in one place or another. as well as the way in which Catriona being neurodivergent was handled from a late 19th century POV.

Also, the epilogue ♥️😭
