Agnes Grey by Anne Brontë
5.0

Anne Bronte is so underrated in comparison to her sisters, Charlotte and Emily. This was honest as to how governesses and servants in general are seen as lesser. The scenes involving the brat Tom Bloomfield and his cruelty were very upsetting and hard to read. But it is nice seeing a book that doesn't make children out to be perfect little angels, and that a woman can be indifferent to children whether they are hers or someone else's.
